With this luxury SUV BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) further expands its impressive portfolio of exclusive highperformance automobiles. The 4&#215;4 SUV is powered by a BRABUS B63 Biturbo 6.3-liter V8 engine with 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).</p>
<p>Visually the SUV sets itself apart with the stunningly styled BRABUS WIDESTAR version and forged 23-inch wheels. Also part of the standard equipment of the BRABUS GL63 Biturbo is an exclusive interior with leather and Alcantara. The GL 63 Biturbo is built in smallseries production and starts at 368,000 Euros MSRP. </p>
<p>BRABUS fits the high-speed eight-cylinder four-valve engine from the ML63 AMG with a twin turbo system and implants it into the largest Mercedes SUV. By doing so the luxury manufacturer from Bottrop elevates the GL 63 to a new performance dimension.<br />
<span id="more-2254"></span><br />
The twin turbo system is yet another high-tech development so typical for BRABUS. The BRABUS engineers have developed special cast exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and bypass valves for the V8 engine. For faster response the turbochargers were sized relatively small and both manifolds were designed to only use the exhaust gases from three of the four cylinders on each side for driving the turbochargers.</p>
<p>The turbochargers themselves are also a custom BRABUS development. Normally V-type engines are fitted with two right-turning chargers. That results in a slower response on the right side of the engine because the intake on the right side of the turbine housing necessitates a more complicated exhaust routing than on the left side of the engine. To solve this problem the BRABUS engineers designed a left-turning turbocharger for the right cylinder bank of the engine and thus achieved perfect exhaust-gas dynamics.</p>
<p>The twin turbo system also includes a generously dimensioned water-to-air intercooler as well as a dual intake manifold with cast-in BRABUS Biturbo logos and sport air filters. Highperformance catalysts behind the turbochargers reduce back pressure and further lower exhaust emissions.</p>
<p>The inner workings of the engine are adapted to turbocharging with BRABUS forged pistons that reduce the compression ratio to 9.0:1. Newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection adapted to the turbo technology and an electronic boost pressure management system play a key role. Together they ensure not only maximum power yield but also clean emissions in accordance with the EURO IV emission standards. Like all BRABUS engines the B63 Biturbo is lubricated exclusively with synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil.</p>
<p>This engine establishes the BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo among the world’s most powerful SUVs.</p>
<p>The engine has a rated power output of 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW at a low 6,200 rpm. The maximum torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) is available on a plateau between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm.</p>
<p>In combination with a modified SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive this engine delivers performance previously unimaginable for a vehicle of this type: The BRABUS GL63 Biturbo accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).</p>
<p>Naturally the vehicle’s aerodynamic properties, tires, suspension and brakes are all adapted to this enormous performance potential.</p>
<p>The BRABUS WIDESTAR version with its elegantly contoured fender flares adds six centimeters (2.4 inches) to the width of the GL 63 Biturbo. The WIDESTAR front apron was shaped in the wind tunnel to reduce aerodynamic lift on the front axle thus maximizing directional stability at high speed. Generously sized air inlets provide the engine and the front brakes with as much cooling air as possible. For further increased active safety the BRABUS front features LED daytime running lights and four auxiliary headlamps.</p>
<p>BRABUS rocker panels create an aerodynamically smooth transition between the fender flares on front and rear axle. Integrated entrance lights facilitate entering and exiting the vehicle in the dark.</p>
<p>The vehicle’s aerodynamics are further optimized by a roof spoiler and the BRABUS rear apron with integrated diffuser. The apron is custom-tailored to fit the wider fenders and in addition to cutouts for the tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system features integrated underfloor lights.</p>
<p>The large wheel houses offer plenty of room for three-piece BRABUS Monoblock E PLATINUM EDITION 11Jx23 wheels. These nine-spoke wheels have a forged and highgloss-polished drop center and can be fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires up to size 305/30 R 23.</p>
<p>The BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo can also be equipped with forged 21-inch Monoblock VI or F wheels or with 22-inch Monoblock VI, E, Q or S and new BRABUS Monoblock G PLATINUM EDITION forged wheels.</p>
<p>The ride height of the high performance car is lowered by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) with the BRABUS suspension tuning module for the AIRMATIC air suspension. This measure not only benefits the looks of the GL. The lowered center of gravity also results in even sportier and safer on-road handling.</p>
<p>To further optimize active safety the SUV is equipped with a BRABUS high-performance brake system. The version for the GL 63 Biturbo features 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and cross-drilled 380 x 36 millimeter (15.0 x 1.4 inches) discs on the front axle. The rear axle stops on 355 x 28 mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) brake discs and six-piston fixed calipers.</p>
<p>The luxury equipment of the BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo also includes a premium interior. The interior is custom-tailored to customer specifications from a combination of especially soft and breathable Mastik leather and Alcantara.</p>
<p>BRABUS precious-wood and carbon-fiber inlays are available in a variety of versions and are color-coordinated with the leather. The sporty character of the vehicle is reflected by the speedometer with 320-km/h (200-mph) scale, aluminum components such as pedals and door-lock pins and an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel.</p>
<p>Special consoles for the backs of the front seats each have an integrated seven-inch LCD screen, a DVD player and a folding table. They transform the rear passenger compartment into a multimedia studio. The entertainment equipment can be further expanded into a fully functional office on wheels with state-of-the-art communication and computer technology.</p>

<p>With a top speed of 322.3 km/h (200.3 mph) the BRABUS GLK V12 has set a new speed record for street-legal SUVs on the Italian high-speed test track on October 19th, 2009. The exclusive special model, powered by a twelve-cylinder twin turbo engine with 750 hp (740 bhp) / 552 kW, celebrates its world debut at the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW.</p>
<p>The new BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 750 engine was implanted in the small engine bay of the GLK with meticulous precision. The engineers and technicians drew upon their experience and know-how gathered from the development and production of the special model BRABUS BULLIT, based on the latest Mercedes C-Class.<br />

The displacement engine, lubricated exclusively with ARAL Synthetic motor oil, delivers 750 hp (740 bhp) / 552 kW at 5,500 rpm and produces a peak torque of 1,350 Nm (995 lb-ft) at 2,100 rpm, limited in the car electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). To achieve this kind of performance, the engine –based on the latest Mercedes 600 twelvecylinder engine – was completely re-engineered in the BRABUS engine department.</p>
<p>Displacement is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters with the help of a special crankshaft, larger cylinder bore, special pistons and piston rods. In addition the three-valve heads are precision-machined and fitted with special camshafts.</p>
<p>For maximum power yield the BRABUS engineers have developed a special twin turbo system with two larger turbochargers and more efficient intercoolers. Free-flow metal catalysts and a fully stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system custom-tailored to the GLK body let the BRABUS SV12 R 750 Biturbo engine breathe more freely.</p>
<p>Custom-programmed engine electronics ensure an optimal symbiosis of power yield, running smoothness and especially eco-friendly exhaust emissions. Special mapping and OnBoard Diagnostics II result in clean emissions that meet the strict requirements of the Euro IV standard. The BRABUS GLK V12 is also equipped with the latest driving dynamics systems such as ABS, ASR and ESP.</p>
<p>The enormous power is transferred to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and a BRABUS limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent.</p>
<p>Together these measures make the BRABUS GLK V12 the fastest street-legal SUV in the world. But it is not just the incredible top speed of 322.3 km/h (211 mph) that are the basis for its fascination. With an acceleration time from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) of just 4.2 seconds and 12.8 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph) the five-door sets new standards for its kind. BRABUS manages this extraordinary SUV performance with custom modifications to aerodynamics, suspension and brakes.</p>
<p>The front apron of the BRABUS WIDESTAR version was developed in the wind tunnel. Its large air dams provide radiators and front brakes with ample cooling air. In combination with a carbon-fiber spoiler lip the front apron also minimizes aerodynamic lift on the front axle –a prerequisite for directional stability beyond 300 km/h (186 mph).</p>
<p>Favorable aerodynamic properties were also a top priority for the design of the BRABUS WIDESTAR fender flares on front and rear axle. They add five centimeters (two inches) to the width of the GLK. Custom-tailored rocker panels create a smooth transition between front and rear flares. The rocker panels feature LED lights in their undersides that are activated via the keyless remote or by pulling on a door handle. These lights illuminate the ground next to the SUV for safe entering and exiting the vehicle in the dark.</p>
<p>In the rear the BRABUS roof spoiler reduces aerodynamic lift and thus makes an important contribution to the excellent directional stability of the world’s fastest SUV. The rear appearance of the BRABUS GLK V12 is further characterized by the BRABUS rear apron with its centrally located reflector. Custom-tailored cutouts on the right and left side provide the perfect backdrop for the four characteristically shaped tailpipes of the BRABUS stainlesssteel sport exhaust system.</p>
<p>The larger wheel houses of the record car provide space for BRABUS Monoblock wheels up to king-size wheels with a diameter of 22 inches. The size 10Jx22 wheels come in five different designs: GLK V12 customers can choose from the new BRABUS Monoblock G fivespoke forged wheels, three-piece Monoblock VI alloy wheels and one-piece Monoblock E, Q and S wheels. High-performance tires from BRABUS technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA can be mounted up to size 295/25 ZR 22.</p>
<p>The BRABUS coilover sport suspension was developed specifically for the twelve-cylinder SUV. It is height-adjustable on front and rear axle and features ten selectable settings each for bound and rebound.</p>
<p>To handle the extreme performance the brakes were upgraded as well and trimmed for maximum stopping power and endurance. The BRABUS high-performance brakes system features 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and grooved steel discs measuring 380 x 37 millimeters (15 x 1.5 inches) on the front axle. The rear axle stops on six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and grooved 360 x 28 millimeter (14.2 x 1.1 inches) discs.</p>
<p>The interior of the GLK V12 was also refined to reflect the exclusive character of this unique SUV: The GLK V12 comes with a BRABUS fully leather interior that can be further refined with Alcantara elements if desired. The interior appointments are rounded out with an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, a speedometer with 330-km/h (205-mph) scale and stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS WIDESTAR logo.</p>
<p>Further exclusive interior highlights are wood trim sets or carbon-fiber trim panels for dashboard, doors and center console in any color imaginable. Custom-tailored consoles for the backs of the GLK front seats provide the perfect multimedia experience. They each feature an integrated seven-inch LCD screen and a DVD player.﻿</p>

At the heart of this exclusive small-series-production car is the newly developed BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 twelve-cylinder displacement engine.</p>
<p>With a rated power output of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) this engine  catapults the four-door car from rest to 100km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 370 km/h (230 mph). The exclusively appointed BRABUS E V12 is built in a limited “one of ten”edition and starts at 498,000 Euros MSRP.</p>
<p>BRABUS, recognized by the German Federal Vehicle Registration Agency (Kraftfahrtbundesamt) as a vehicle manufacturer, builds the new E V12 “one of ten”based on the reinforced body of the latest Mercedes E-Class.<br />

The next evolutionary stage of the proven BRABUS SV 12 Biturbo displacement engine is called SV12 R Biturbo 800 and was developed specifically for this vehicle. The engine is implanted into the modified engine bay of the E-Class with almost surgical precision.</p>
<p>Displacement of the twelve-cylinder engine that usually powers the latest Mercedes 600 models is increased from standard 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cu. in.). The increase is affected with a special crankshaft with longer stroke, precision-balanced pistons rods and pistons with a larger diameter and an increased cylinder bore. The inner workings of the BRABUS engine are further modified with special sport camshafts and cylinder heads optimized for mixture flow.</p>
<p>Both the air intake and the BRABUS twin-turbo system were newly developed for this car. The latter features two custom manifolds with integrated high-performance turbochargers and four water-to-air intercoolers. The combustion air is provided by a carbon-fiber RAM-air intake system in the hood. In addition a high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts was custom-developed for the platform of the new E-Class.</p>
<p>New engine electronics with specially programmed mapping for injection and ignition ensure not only exemplary power yield but also compliance with the strict EURO IV emission limits. The high-tech lubricants for the entire drivetrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.</p>
<p>With these modifications the engine of the BRABUS E V12 “one of ten”produces an enormous power output of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), available at a low 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).</p>
<p>Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and a BRABUS high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. The BRABUS E V12 comes standard with state-of-the-art driving stability programs that can be deactivated at the push of a button.</p>
<p>Following the tradition of the first three BRABUS E V12 sedans the 2010 edition once again delivers driving performance normally reserved for only a very few select super sports cars.  The sedan, which weighs in at 1,980 kilograms (4,365 lbs), sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 3.7 seconds. After just 9.9 seconds the four-door car reaches a speed of 200km/h (124 mph). The 300-km/h (186-mph) mark is reached after just 23.9 seconds. Topspeed is more than 370 km/h (230 mph) but is limited electronically for reasons of tire safety to 350 km/h (217 mph).</p>
<p>This extreme performance also places highest demands on the vehicle’s aerodynamic properties. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a body conversion kit made from high-strength yet especially lightweight carbon fiber. It not only adds 36 millimeters (1.4 inches) to the width of the E-Class and gives it an even more striking appearance; it also minimizes aerodynamic lift on front and rear axle.</p>
<p>The BRABUS front was designed to replace the original apron and provides radiators and front brakes with an optimal supply of cooling air. At the same time the sophisticated shape notably reduces aerodynamic lift on the front axle.</p>
<p>Air vents located behind the wheel arches were integrated into the front fenders. They are also vital to the thermal health of all components in the engine bay and help vent the front wheel houses to reduce lift on the front axle.</p>
<p>The rocker panels route the air stream to the rear wheel arches with minimum turbulence. The rear wheel arches of the “one in ten”edition feature special cowlings called ‘Speed Spads.’</p>
<p>The striking rear of the new BRABUS E V12 sets itself apart with the four characteristic tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system. Also part of the sophisticated aerodynamic-enhancement concept is the rear wing on the trunk lid and the diffuser integrated into the rear apron.</p>
<p>A wider track means better directional stability at high speeds. The widened fenders front and back make room for BRABUS Monoblock Q wheels in size 9.5Jx19. The highperformance tires so essential for these extreme speeds are supplied by technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. They are mounted on the front axle in size 255/35 ZR 19 and in size 285/30 ZR 19 in back.</p>
<p>The height-adjustable BRABUS coil-over suspension was also custom-developed for the E V12. The ride height of the suspension can be adjusted to the owner’s individual preferences. But that’s not all: Compression and rebound rates of the front and rear dampers can be adjusted in ten steps between very comfortable and extremely firm for use on the racetrack. Sport sway bars reduce body roll in fast corners.</p>
<p>The enormous performance of the BRABUS E V12 also places highest demands on the brakes. The high-performance sedan is equipped with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and grooved steel brake discs measuring 380 x 37 millimeters (15.0 x 1.5 inches) on the front axle. The rear axle stops on six-piston aluminum fixed calipers gripping discs measuring 360 x 28 millimeters (14.2 x 1.1 inches). The BRABUS high-performance brake system incorporates all functions of the standard Brake Assist system of the Mercedes E Class.</p>
<p>The interior of the car exudes a feeling of true exclusive luxury. The sporty-contoured custom front seats and the two rear individual seats are covered with a combination of Alcantara and black leather, smooth or perforated, as are dashboard, door trim and headliner. The entire vehicle floor is covered with square-patterned leather. It alone uses several miles of the finest thread, every inch of it sewn with utmost precision.</p>
<p>The ensemble is completed with matte-black carbon-fiber components for dashboard, center console and door panels. The BRABUS E V12 “one of ten”can be optionally equipped with a cell phone from premium manufacturer Vertu. This exclusive cell phone from the “Vertu Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre”limited edition of 1,500 phones features a titanium housing with the sides clad in black carbon fiber. This especially exclusive phone features 3G and quadband technology as well as an integrated hands-free option, and represents state-of-the-art communication technology.</p>
<p>Only ten BRABUS E V12 sedans of the “one of ten”edition will be built by hand in a smallseries production run. Alternatively the BRABUS E V12 is also offered in a version with 750 hp / 552 kW and a pointedly subtle bodywork without cowlings and rear wing.</p>

<p>The new BRABUS B63 Biturbo 6.3-liter V8 engine produces 650 hp (478 kW) and propels the 4×4 to a top speed of 310 km/h. In addition to a superior engine the new BRABUS ML 63 sets itself apart from the rest with the sporty yet elegant WIDESTAR package, forged 23 inches wheels and an exclusive interior trimmed out with leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The BRABUS ML 63 Biturbo starts at 190,602 Euros.</p>
<p>The twin-turbo system further includes a large intercooler, a dual-flow intake manifold with cast-in BRABUS Biturbo logo, and high-performance free-flow metal catalysts for efficient exhaust-gas purification.</p>
<p>The high-end B63 Biturbo engine costs 69,800 Euros and offers power on a level previously unknown in the SUV world. With a rated power output of 650 hp (478 kW) at just 6,200 rpm the BRABUS engine surpasses its production counterpart by 140 hp (103 kW). Peak torque of the ML 63 Biturbo is 850 Nm, up from standard 630 Nm. It is available on a wide plateau between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm.</p>
<p>Just as unique in this vehicle category is the performance this engine delivers in concert with a modified seven-speed SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h is shortened by 0.8 seconds to 4.2 seconds. Top speed increases from 250 to 310 km/h.</p>
<p>The front spoiler bumper with its three strikingly styled air inlets, four auxiliary headlights and daytime running lights lends the M-Class more passing clout and minimizes lift on the front axle. The BRABUS WIDESTAR body conversion further includes door trim components and rocker panels that create a perfect transition between front and rear fender flares. The rear apron features an integrated diffuser and cutouts for the chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system. In combination with the rear spoiler it creates an optimal aerodynamic balance.</p>
<p>The BRABUS control module for the standard AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height by some 30 millimeters which also benefits sporty on-road handling.</p>
<p>To further optimize active safety the BRABUS ML 63 is equipped with a high-performance brake system. 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers grip front discs measuring 380 x 36 mm. The rear axle features six-piston fixed calipers and 360 x 28 mm discs. Together these components provide stopping power normally reserved for purebred sports cars.</p>
<p>The most powerful M-Class ever also features numerous exclusive interior highlights. Stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo and an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel are part of the package as is an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior made from a perfectly finished combination of the finest Mastik and Alcantara leathers.</p>
<p>Sporty BRABUS ‘Checkered Flag’ carbon-fiber components for the interior are another BRABUS innovation. They have a carbon-fiber surface structure made to look like a checkered flag used as the finish flag in motorsports. The front seats can be fitted with custom rear consoles that encompass the headrests. They each house a seven-inch LCD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and integrated DVD player. These consoles are also available in a version that features a power-folding precious-wood table.</p>

<p>Why would they build such a machine? It&#8217;s pretty simple &#8211; because they can. And more importantly, someone will happily cut down the sum of $480,000 to put one car in their collection. Like any real outfit calling themselves a premier German tuner. This time around, they&#8217;ve once again outdone themselves for the sake of the buyer and shoehorned their most powerful Mercedes-Benz derived engine -  520kW (700hp), 6.3L, V12 biturbo &#8211; into the most unlikely candidate &#8211; a G Class purpose-built off-roader.</p>
<p>The most impressive item in the whole Brabus G V12 S Biturbo package is the powerplant. It&#8217;s borrowed from an S600 and features an increased displacement from 5.5L to 6.3L via larger cylinders, bore and special cams. A bespoke crankshaft with longer stroke was included internally, while two bigger snails were bolted on as well. Redesigned stainless steel exhausts allow for a louder, deeper tone. A newly mapped ECU keeps the German mechanical madness operating in unison.</p>
<p>Even with all the power, lowered suspension and 22 in alloys, Brabus still clamors that their G Wagon monster is the same true off-roaderas it was straight from Mercedes Given its claimed performance numbers, though, all indications point to it likely never seeing a dirt path in its pampered lifetime. If owners can keep the tires from melting (literally), 100 km/h comes in a scant 4.3 sec before hitting a limited 240 km/h top speed. About entering the corners you can forget, because despite the tuned running gear, the G V12 is still a top-heavy behemoth.</p>
<p>And so as we are used to see only chic accessorized cabins from Brabus interior designers, this roomy SUV, the latest model is all the same, with its great interior. They would make the cabin personally for everyone, anything an owner desires will be there, starting with full multimedia and getting to office connectivity systems. This model is embellished with Mastik leather, alcantara and wood grain on nearly every exposed stock surface, and of course its seats, instrument display and sills are all of the best choice.</p>
