edo competition presents the most powerful Panamera Turbo with a host of goodies

A Panamera Turbo doesn’t distinguish itself as the most understated looking vehicle on the road, but edo competition takes it a step further still.

So far the specialist company from Ahlen in Westphalia has mainly had sports cars from manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche in its order books, but now edo competition has taken on a four-door sedan from Porsche, and completed a customization project incorporating numerous upgrades.

An important visual ingredient is the aerodynamics package from Mansory, which was installed on customer request. The new rear valance provides a lot of room for the high performance exhaust system developed by edo competition, featuring four large stainless steel exhaust tips and butterfly valves.

The edo electronic lowering module offers precise handling and improved vehicle dynamics. The new 22 inch wheels do their part to enhance the Panamera’s athletic appearance. If desired, the wheels can be custom painted to match the exterior of the vehicle or to provide a contrast.

The main focus, however, was on performance.

It’s not that a stock Panamera Turbo is short on power, but if a customer asks for an extra helping, edo competition is more than happy to accommodate these wishes and come up with a professional solution.

After a development time of almost two years, the technicians have finalized an engine that is – in contrast to the efforts of others – not the result of a project with ever-increasing power targets and a multitude of tweaks, but one that was designed for big power from the outset. The output of the Panamera’s twin-turbo V8 was increased from 368 kW / 500 hp to 551 kW / 750 hp, enabling the four-door sedan to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4 seconds, and to achieve an electronically governed top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph), depending on the tires used.

As part of the engine modifications, the exhaust system was also completely redesigned. The revised tips complement the design of the new carbon fiber rear valance and a fantastic exhaust note adds to the driver’s enjoyment.

An upgraded interior provides the finishing touch. In order to perfect the visual and sensory aspect of the product, edo competition also devotes attention to interior upgrades. According to the customer’s wishes, leather and fabric are combined with the finest wood, lacquer, metal or carbon fiber surfaces. All of it custom made and therefore unique. Perfect stitching on dashboards and seats as well as personalized interior accents showcase world-class craftsmanship. Steering wheels, consoles, pedals, seats or a complete interior; virtually everything can be tailored to the customer’s tastes.

A little more unique? A little sportier?
edo competition presents the LP600/4 with added spice

600 – 340 – 3.5 …  No, these are not the dimensions of what Santa’s about to bring. These are the three most prominent figures of the new edo LP600/4.

600 stands for its power output, 340 for its top speed and 3.5 seconds is how long it takes to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a dead stop.

edo competition has managed to improve performance by increasing power output to 600 horsepower at 7,970 rpm and the torque output to 572 Nm (422 ft-lb) at 6,845 rpm.

Another priority was to upgrade the suspension in order to improve drivability, driving dynamics and precision. edo competition achieved this by employing a newly developed sport suspension system, which is adjustable in compression and rebound damping. This technology allows for custom suspension setups that are ideally matched to a wide range of needs. The low friction shock absorbers and new spring rates were tested extensively on race tracks and high speed ovals, as well as on the road, because handling is not an area for compromise. The result has to be experienced to be believed…

Rounding off the sporty concept are 19 in. three-piece racing wheels with artificially-aged cast center-sections, hand-polished outer rims and 39 stainless steel screws. For the front axle the customer can specify stock tire dimensions or 235/35 ZR 19, while the rear wheels are shod with 305/30 ZR 19 Dunlop Sport Maxx rubber. With this solution edo competition enables its customers to reuse the factory tires on their new wheels.

Another, ever-intriguing topic at edo competition: „The voice“.

The new stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with butterfly valves is an attractive proposition. Not only is the sound level adjustable via remote, the exhaust also frees up 15 horsepower and lets the driver enjoy a whole new aural experience. As a welcome side effect, the edo exhaust system weighs 12 kg (26 lb) less than the original piece.

As a result of years of experience with high speed tests, edo competition has reinforced the front end of the edo LP600/4 with a new front spoiler lip, making 340 km/h (211 mph) runs into a relaxing affair.

As promised, lots of extra spice …

840 horsepower and 100 kilograms (220 lb) lighter.

The Ferrari Enzo with its 660 horsepower is arguably one of the most exclusive cars in the world, both in terms of its driving dynamics and purchase price. Those looking for something considerably faster and more exclusive choose the edo Enzo XX Evolution.

A bump in displacement from 6.0 to 6.3 liters, new camshafts, new titanium valve spring retainers and connecting rods, modified cylinder heads, new high performance exhaust headers, high flow catalytic converters, mufflers and air filters: that’s the scope of edo competition’s engine modifications. The standard hydraulic tappets are replaced with newly developed solid tappets, enabling the 12 cylinder engine to rev to an incredible 9,600 rpm.

This is unmatched by any other 12 cylinder engine at this time! Additionally the intake system of the V12 was modified, a new high performance clutch – available with „strada“ or „pista“ friction pads – and a more powerful oil pump were installed. The power output is increased by 180 to 840 horsepower. Without mufflers more than 860 horsepower is possible. The maximum torque of 780 Nm (575 ft-lb) is available at 5,800 rpm.

While the power output is increased, the Enzo’s weight is decreased by a respectable 100 kilograms (220 lb). The result in numerical terms is that the edo Enzo XX Evolution accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.0 seconds and 300 km/h in just 19 seconds. The top speed exceeds 390 km/h (242 mph).

The acoustical side of things is obviously not being neglected. A stainless steel muffler featuring remote-controlled butterfly valves is available on request. This setup lets the driver switch the high performance exhaust between two different sound levels.

Astonishing transmission shift times: While the production Enzo takes 110 milliseconds, the edo Enzo XX Evolution shift times were reduced to an incredible 60 milliseconds! For comparison, an F1 car shifts in 40 milliseconds.

The edo/KW race suspension from the FIA GT series was retuned for the Enzo XX Evolution, promising ultimate driving dynamics. The nose lift functionality is retained. The low-friction 3-way adjustable shock absorbers can be adjusted to the individual tastes of the driver and provide excellent steering precision and feedback.

The edoinstalled tire pressure monitoring system displays the pressures for each of the four wheels. Providing ample grip for the edo Enzo XX Evolution are 19 inch front wheels and 20 inch rear wheels with 335 mm wide tires.

The drive shafts were replaced due to the higher propulsive forces acting on them. The new units are 4 kg (8.8 lb) lighter and considerably more robust in order to cope with the enormous power increase.

The aerodynamics package is absolutely unique.

It includes a complete exhaust system with tips machined from billet aluminum, now relocated to the top of the body. The tips are plasma-coated using a special process. The newly developed rear skirt featuring winglets and a rear wing profile, adjustable in 3 steps, improves the ground effect and can be tuned to the tastes of the driver.

The new retractable rear wing is upgraded with a taller flap resulting in increased downforce and stability, especially at high speeds. New LED tail lights round off the rear view of the car. A test day with an instructor, mechanics, data logging, transport and hospitality is included in the conversion package.

“To hell with modesty” – so begins the communiqué of the Edo Competition about their last performance, a Mercedes C 63 AMG. While recognizing the qualities and excellent performance of the series model, the boys at Edo Competition were dissatisfied. In fact, not dissatisfied but rather confident that it can be better. It’s their job to think so, if they want to preserve its reputation.

C 63 AMG is equipped with a V8 engine of 6.2 liter, a maximum power of 457 hp and max. torque of 600 Nm. No turbine. In fact, no one in Edo get complicated with supercharging. Instead they changed the exhaust system, exhaust headers, high-flow catalytic converters, new air filters and a recalibrated ECU (including top speed governor removal) boost these numbers to an impressive 555 horsepower and 680 Nm (501 ft-lb). With this occasion they suppressed and electronic speed limiter that hold just 250 km / h.

Being tested, the propeller reached to provide 555 hp and 680 Nm, sufficient values that the car will explode from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km / h.

The good side (or bad, depending on how you look at the situation) is that Edo Competition has not crossed with the aesthetic lines of the machine, limiting to the fitting of black rims, from alloy rims, of 19 inches, shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

As for the inside, there are no pictures, because there is not a standard interior, to not conflict with different client tastes, Edo leaves them to order what they want. For the right price, tuner executes everything.

The new model Ferrari, California, received a technical treatment of the EDO Competition. Ferrari presented California model, the first CC of the brand of last year, but only this year tuners will deal seriously with the latest Ferrari.

Those from EDO Competition had presented last days an aesthetic and technical kit, the good side being that is kind of tuning of good taste, without useless exaggerations and customization according to clients’ wishes.

California has – in the version number – a 4.3 liter V8 that produces 460 CP/7.500 rpm and allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4 seconds, maximum speed is 310 km / h. Engineers at EDO Competition were recalibrated control electronic module of the engine and managed to get 500 HP, and with help of new exhaust. Performance differences are not noticeable, the 500 HP, allowing an acceleration 0 – 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 5 km / h higher than at the model series.

EDO offers beside the guard near the ground lowered and sports suspension, which can strongly be adjusted according to preference. Tuner offers several models of wheels, 20 and 21 inches, the customer will decide which model fits best and depending on the color of the car.

The interior does not have a specific kit, tuner preferring to leave this on the preferences of customers. It can do anything inside, from materials and colors changed, or to replacement of components, depending on what the owner and the money that are available.

Edo competition has developed the most powerful GT in the world – Bentley edo speed GT. The power output of the 6.0-liter W12 engine was increased to 680 horsepower, turning it into the world’s fastest GT. The new unit delivers a maximum torque output of 880 Nm (649 ft-lb) at 2,500 rpm. With these numbers, the vehicle can sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds. Due to the new high-performance exhaust system for the speed GT along with the ECU recalibration, the increased output has been achieved.

The sound level of the high performance exhaust can be adjusted with the help of a remote control. The lowered suspension gives the speed GT a sporty appearance and improves the handling capabilities. The wheels can be painted according to the customers’ wishes and a beautiful wrapper for a custom exterior styling is available in any colour.
